The Dodgers are out of room. Milwaukee has won the first two games of the NLCS and brings a 2-0 lead into Dodger Stadium tonight, and a loss puts Los Angeles one game from elimination. Shohei Ohtani, mired in a 3-for-20 playoff slump, told Dave Roberts he's healthy enough to stay in the lineup. Elsewhere, PSG hosts Manchester City in a heavyweight Champions League group match, and the NBA's regular season opens with a full slate.

Marquee: Brewers at Dodgers, NLCS Game 3 (8:00 PM ET, FS1)

Blake Snell gets the ball for Los Angeles trying to keep the season alive, against Brewers rookie Robert Gasser, who's been a weapon out of Milwaukee's rotation all October. The Dodgers lost Game 2 at home 7-4 and head into tonight down 0-2 for the first time all postseason. Ohtani, who went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Monday and hasn't homered since August 18, will reportedly hit somewhere between second and sixth in the order. Milwaukee's William Contreras has carried the offense through two games and said the Brewers will "keep going" regardless of how LA responds.

Vegas line: Dodgers -166 moneyline (-1.5 run line, +124), Brewers +148 (+1.5 run line, -150), total 7.5, via ESPN.

Also tonight

  • Paris Saint-Germain vs Manchester City (3:00 PM ET, Paramount+). Champions League group play, two of the tournament's deepest rosters. City is still rebuilding its defensive identity under Pep Guardiola; PSG has looked like the best team in Europe for stretches this fall.
  • Denver Nuggets at LA Clippers (10:30 PM ET, NBA TV). NBA regular-season openers tip off across the league tonight. Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets close out the night on the road against a Clippers team retooled around James Harden.
  • Chicago Bulls at Milwaukee Bucks (8:00 PM ET). Another opening-night matchup, with the Bucks beginning life as the clear top dog in a rebuilding Central division.
  • Dallas Stars at Colorado Avalanche (8:30 PM ET, TNT/truTV). Two of the West's top contenders meet early in the NHL season, with Colorado looking to build on a strong start at home.

Everything else tonight is secondary to Chavez Ravine. If the Dodgers can't solve Gasser and the Brewers' bullpen, Milwaukee heads back to American Family Field with a chance to close out the series on home soil.
