October baseball's biggest pitching matchup opens tonight, and it comes wrapped in a full 13-game NFL Sunday that starts in London before 10 AM ET and closes with Sunday Night Football in Atlanta. Here's what's worth your remote tonight.
Marquee: Dodgers at Brewers, NLCS Game 1 (8:00 PM ET, Fox)
Milwaukee gets the ace matchup it wanted. Tarik Skubal, the two-time AL Cy Young winner the Dodgers picked up at the trade deadline, faces Jacob Misiorowski, the hardest-throwing arm in baseball who led all of MLB in ERA (1.80) and strikeouts (252) this season, according to MLB.com. Skubal carries a 1.97 ERA across seven career postseason starts. Misiorowski got knocked out by the fifth inning in his NLDS Game 1 start against San Diego but sat out Game 4, so he should be fresh. Both pitchers have owned the other team's lineup this year: the Brewers have a .506 OPS against Skubal, the Dodgers a .468 OPS against Misiorowski. Shohei Ohtani has been dropped in the Dodgers' order after a quiet NLDS, and Dave Roberts could shuffle the lineup again to deal with Misiorowski's velocity.
Vegas line (via ESPN): Brewers -113 / Dodgers -107 on the moneyline. Total set at 6 (Over -112, Under -108). Run line: Dodgers -1.5 (+164), Brewers +1.5 (-200).
