Supreme releases its Nike Air Max 2001 "Air Ecstasy" on Thursday, August 27, 2026, in three colorways at a $180 retail price, according to Sole Retriever. The pack goes up at Supreme's US and EU chapter stores, on Supreme.com and through the Supreme app on release day, with Asian chapter stores following on Saturday, August 29, per Sneaker Bar Detroit. Sneaker Bar Detroit lists the retail price as $190; Sole Retriever, Nice Kicks and Sneakers Cartel all list $180.
The shoe underneath the collaboration
The model is the runner collectors know as the Nike Air Max 2000, a Y2K-era design from Nike's Alpha Project line. For this release Nike is calling it the Air Max 2001 Air Ecstasy. Sneaker Bar Detroit attributes the awkward name to a stretch of Nike history in which several Alpha Project runners — the Air Max 2000, the Air Max 2001 and the Air Ecstasy Plus — shared comparable Tuned Air setups and horizontal TPU overlays, and were routinely mixed up as a result. Nike appears to be sorting that out: upcoming non-Supreme versions are expected to carry the simpler Air Max Ecstasy Plus name, while Supreme's pair keeps Air Max 2001 Air Ecstasy.
The Air Max 2000 never reached the standing of the Air Max 1, 90 or 95, and it has stayed out of Nike's retro rotation since its release; Sneaker Bar Detroit describes the collaboration as giving a forgotten Alpha Project design "another run more than two decades later," and WWD reported in advance that Supreme was bringing the model back for the first time.
The shoe keeps the silhouette of the original. Supreme adds a quilted mesh upper, reflective detailing and oversized "SUPREME" branding worked into the TPU structure around the heel, over the familiar full-length Air Max 2000-style cushioning setup.
The three colorways
All three pairs share the same construction and differ only in color:
- Black/Black-White-Multi-Color — IM7412-001
- White/University Blue-Black-Multi-Color — IM7412-100
- University Red/Speed Yellow-Gym Red-Burgundy Crush-Black-Multi-Color — IM7412-600
All three release in unisex sizing.
Supreme's other Nike Air Max revival this year
In January the two brands announced the Supreme x Nike SB Air Max2 CB '94 Low pack, another Air Max revival pulled from the 1990s.
Footwear is one lane of a Supreme season that also runs apparel drops week to week, including the eight graphic tees Supreme released in June. On the Nike side, the Air Max line has spent 2026 alternating between headline collaborations and in-line color updates like the Air Max TL 2.5 "Valentine's Day."
