Nike is returning the Air More Uptempo '96 to its original "Black/White" colorway on August 21, 2026. The shoe carries style code FV2291-001 and retails for $170 at Nike.com and select Nike Sportswear retailers.
The upper is black nubuck, with white piping tracing the oversized "AIR" lettering that runs the length of both sides. A black jeweled Swoosh sits on the heel, and full-length Air cushioning runs underfoot.
What "OG" means on this particular model
The Air More Uptempo arrived in 1996, and the black-and-white pair is the one Scottie Pippen wore during the Chicago Bulls' 72-10 regular season and the championship run that followed.
The Uptempo has been retroed repeatedly since. Sneaker Bar Detroit notes this pair carries the same style code as the 2023 retro, whose construction sat closer to the 1996 original.
Nike has run several OG-spec retros this summer: the Shox BB4 OG "Black/Lapis," back August 28 for $190, and the Air Foamposite Pro "Green Camo," which returned August 14 after a 13-year gap. Jordan Brand has the Air Jordan 1 High OG "Royal" scheduled for October.
