MoMA and Nike are releasing a two-pack of the Air Rift 2, marking the museum's first full sneaker collaboration with the brand since the two formalized a partnership in 2024. The pack is women's-exclusive, with a Fall 2026 release window. Sole Retriever reports a $130 retail price per pair, though Nike and MoMA have not yet confirmed official pricing.

The two colorways carry style codes IR8669-300 and IR8669-001. The IR8669-300 pair lands in a "Hyper Verde/Light Fuchsia-Cyber" mix — vivid green covering the soft upper with pink accent highlights and yellow detailing. The IR8669-001 pair goes more subdued in black, with neon yellow and light blue accents and a hint of pink on the mini Swooshes. Both retain the Air Rift's laceless build, chunky air-infused sole, and split-toe tabi silhouette that originally launched in 1996.

MoMA branding runs through both pairs: embroidery at the midfoot, co-branded insoles, museum branding printed on the translucent outsoles, and matching graphics on the shoe boxes. Nike and MoMA are also releasing coordinating tabi socks in pink and white to pair with the sneakers.

The collaboration builds on a relationship the two institutions began publicly building in 2024, and follows a run of co-branded socks. This marks the first time MoMA has put its name on a full Nike sneaker release, a step up from the accessories that preceded it.

Uristocrat has tracked Nike's collaboration calendar all year, including the Tom Sachs x NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe "Demerits," and the broader release cadence in the October 2026 sneaker release calendar. It's also part of a wider trend of brands using footwear to make cultural statements, following New Balance's factory worker garden collaboration with Bleue Burnham.
