Gatik AI has raised $200 million in a Series D round co-led by the Qatar Investment Authority and Koch Disruptive Technologies, with participation from Millennium Management, ARK Invest and Intact Private Capital, Reuters reported on August 25. The valuation was not disclosed.
What Gatik actually runs
Gatik operates fully driverless box trucks on fixed "middle-mile" routes — the leg between a distribution center and a store, rather than long-haul highway freight or last-mile delivery to a doorstep. Those routes run today in Texas, Arizona and Arkansas in the United States, and in Canada.
Gatik reported more than $600 million in contracted revenue, more than 85,000 fully driverless orders completed and a 99% on-time delivery rate, according to Forbes. Its customers include Walmart, PepsiCo and the Canadian grocer Loblaw. Gatik and PepsiCo signed a multi-year agreement earlier this year.
What the money is for
Gatik plans to operate more than 100 driverless trucks by the end of 2026, and will put the capital toward commercial expansion, fleet growth, technology, supporting infrastructure and hiring.
"We have built Gatik with real revenue, deep customer demand, and AI-driven autonomous technology proven every day in live supply chains," chief executive Gautam Narang said. Abdulla Al-Kuwari, head of industrials at the Qatar Investment Authority, said: "Autonomous freight is transforming the global logistics industry, making it more efficient and reliable."
Who else is funding capital-intensive AI
Three other 2026 rounds Uristocrat covered drew similar backers: Jane Street led Etched's $700 million round in August, and Hadrian's $1.37 billion Series D and Emerald AI's $150 million Series A each closed with strategic investors alongside venture funds.
