Twelve MLB games today and one of them actually matters for the standings. The Brewers, at 85-52 the best record in baseball, start a four-game set at Wrigley against a Cubs team sitting 77-60. Milwaukee has been out in front of the NL Central all summer. Chicago has 26 games left to do something about it, and this week is most of the chance it gets.
Marquee: Brewers at Cubs, NL Central (7:40 PM ET, Marquee Sports Network)
Kyle Harrison (10-3, 2.79) goes for Milwaukee against Clay Holmes (5-6, 2.26) for Chicago. Two of the better ERAs in the division on the same mound, which is why the total sits under 10. The Brewers lead the season series 4-2 and are 47-25 on the road, so Wrigley is not the refuge it usually is. The Cubs are eight back in the division per MLB.com's series preview, which means a split here basically ends the race and a sweep the other way ends it faster. Take three of four and the last month gets interesting.

Also tonight
- Giants at Braves (6:05 PM ET). First pitch of the night. Atlanta is 82-55 and playing for seeding. San Francisco is 56-81 and playing out the string.
- Mets at Rays (6:40 PM ET). Tampa Bay is 82-54, quietly one of the three best records in the league. The Mets at 61-76 are the disappointment of the year in the National League.
- Padres at Reds (6:40 PM ET). San Diego is 72-65 and still in the wild card mix. Cincinnati at 65-72 is the spoiler here, and Great American Ball Park inflates everything.
- Mariners at Red Sox (6:45 PM ET). Boston is 74-63 and needs the wins. Seattle at 64-73 has already fallen out of it. Fenway in September usually decides something.
- Yankees at Angels (9:38 PM ET). New York is 78-59 and on the West Coast for the late window. The Angels are 52-85, one of the two worst teams in baseball.
- Phillies at Diamondbacks (9:40 PM ET). The best late game on the board. Philadelphia is 77-60, Arizona is 73-65, and both are chasing October. Also the one national window of the night.
The rest of the slate is playing for next year. Wrigley is where the season is on the line, and the Cubs have four days to change the math.
